This architectural installation at Cornell AAP delves into the dynamic interplay of tension and compression through a series of vaulted structures. Utilizing computational simulations inspired by hanging chains, the installation features flexible lines oriented between fixed nodal points, reacting to upward forces along the walking path and downward forces from ceiling-fixed objects. Each vault follows a fractal subdivision pattern, creating a cohesive yet varied geometric form influenced by its anchoring points and applied forces. This exploration showcases the transformative potential of design, emphasizing the relationship between architectural form and environmental forces within a gallery setting.
