Sibley Dome Renovation
A vital hub for AAP and Cornell, our historic Sibley Dome is currently under construction. When reopened, the dome will house new and renewed spaces providing opportunities to enrich and advance our academic priorities.
Fall 2024 Sibley Dome pre-construction reveals a rare view of the domed ceiling's metalwork.
An upward perspective through the scaffolding frames the original surface and architecture of Sibley Dome, contrasting the space's history and hinting at things to come.
The building's original flooring system, with exposed shimmed sleepers that once provided leveling support for the original floor, will remain throughout improvements such as a new subfloor and maple hardwoods.
Interior scaffolding rises within Sibley Dome as demolition work begins. The historic space is being carefully prepared for its new purpose as a 110-seat auditorium for the AAP community.
