The Atkinson Center is a net-zero collaborative space powered by wind. The project is aimed to act as the literal and symbolic epicenter of Cornell’s sustainability efforts. Cornell’s affinity to nature is not only reflected in its scientific research but also embodied in its geographical location, surrounded by forests, gorges, rivers, and waterfalls. This project aims to recreate a miniature landscape of Cornell’s mountains and waterfalls while taking advantage of the wind power potential brought about by Cornell’s high altitude.
