The project stems from designing a game and establishing the rules of the game based on a given precedent. Following the rules of the game, a primitive kindergarten is designed as a "perfect" siteless school. Three variations of the primitive school are developed for three sites in Skaneateles, New York.
The final project, located at the park site near Skaneateles Lake, is a dialogue between two surfaces. One surface is the roof garden, which is designed to preserve the existing park; another one is the lake surface. Several courtyards are carved out from the ground, serving as a playground, green space, dock, and commercial area. The connection between the project and the site is established by creating the new park, waterfront space, and courtyards for both the local residents and the children.
