Julianne Hunter

Julianne Hunter, born 1986, is a New York based artist with roots in the Hudson Valley, Albany, Ithaca and Brooklyn. Her work revolves around memory, time, growth and the conceptual framework of what makes "home." Print media, papermaking and sculpture are utilized most frequently in her installation-based and modular prints.  

Hunter has shown nationally and internationally at Galerie de la Ferme du Mousseau in Elancourt, France; the Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art, State University of New York at New Paltz; Colorado State University; Saratoga Arts Center, New York; the Williamsburg Art and Historical Center, Brooklyn; Del Mar College, Texas; Gladwyne Library, Pennsylvania; McKenna Theater at SUNY New Paltz; Limner Gallery, New York; Market Place Gallery and Anne Street Gallery, New York. She completed residencies at Penland School of Crafts and Zea May's Printmaking. 

Julianne earned her M.F.A. in Printmaking from SUNY New Paltz in 2017 and B.F.A. in Sculpture from the College of Saint Rose in 2008. She is currently serving several roles in Ithaca as Visiting Critic and Art and Print Media Studio Manager at Cornell University. She also serves on the board for the Ithaca Ink Shop Printmaking Center.
