Exhibition Abstract

Students enrolled in Intro to Print Media and Advanced Print Media are working within the theme of Biophilia, inspired by the exhibition on view at the Denver Art Museum and the themes explored within that idea. Visits to the Cornell Botanic Gardens, Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art, and the digital exhibition catalog for the Denver Art Museum served as jumping-off points for students to explore their own relationship with nature. Biophilia is a means of exploring our relationship with nature, discovering our love for other living beings, our reliance upon them, and our collaboration with our world. The exhibition includes both prints and matrixes so that viewers can get a bit more insight into the process in which the works were made.

Biographies

Summer Print Media students are enrolled in either ART2301 or ART3399 and meet together over six weeks during the summer semester. Julianne Hunter has been teaching Summer Print Media at Cornell University since 2019.
