Chris Oliver
Chris Oliver received his B.A. in Sculpture from Marlboro College in 1999 and his M.F.A. in Sculpture from SUNY Albany in 2005. Working in a variety of media ranging from minute 3-D prints to large hand-built permanent outdoor installations that shape their environment over time, his work examines the fine line between sculpture and common objects through manipulations of scale and context.
Oliver's work has been exhibited throughout the Northeast and Northwest. Most recently, he installed large-scale pieces at Method Gallery in Seattle, WA; Coffin Farm in Redmond, WA; The Wassaic Project in Wassaic, NY; and I-Park in East Haddam, CT. He has taught sculpture at Cornell, SUNY Binghamton, SUNY Albany, Marlboro College, and Ithaca College. Oliver is a tenured Associate Professor of Sculpture at Bellevue College in Bellevue, Washington, where he is also the Sculpture Program Head and Art Gallery Director.
