Council for Diversity
+ Inclusion

The college's Council for Diversity + Inclusion is charged with creating a more equitable and inclusive community at AAP.

In June 2020, following the murder of George Floyd and BLM protests, AAP faculty, staff, and students began conversations with college leadership to initiate significant shifts in curricular and cocurricular programming. AAP's Council for Diversity + Inclusion was founded soon after and was charged with creating a comprehensive plan to guide change and action in many different areas across the college.

Council Structure

The 2022–23 council has a membership of ten people comprised of four students, four faculty, and two staff from across AAP. Faculty chairs of the college's departmental diversity committees are members of the council to ensure communication between the council and their committees.
