I found that Cornell provided me with the right balance between creativity and technicality, as it encourages students to apply the knowledge from lectures and classes into studio projects.
Why did you choose Cornell and AAP?
Comparing architecture programs at various universities, I found that Cornell provided me with the right balance between creativity and technicality, as it encourages students to apply the knowledge from lectures and classes into studio projects. After attending the Introduction to Architecture Summer Program, I knew that AAP was for me. Before the program, I had only taken classes in technical drawing and didn't have a clear understanding of architecture. During the summer program, I was exposed to the notion of space. Finally, it all made sense!
What are your extracurricular interests and how have you incorporated them into your college life?
As a high school student, I played club soccer. I enjoyed drawing, painting, and photography. I was also part of a conservation crew in Alaska, and I interned at two architecture firms.
