Mu Chieh Huang

Taichung City, Taiwan

I realized city and regional planning has a broader aspect in terms of professions.

Why did you choose Cornell and AAP?

Cornell is one of the most prestigious universities in the world, and AAP is one of the best architecture colleges on the planet. It has been my dream to study at Cornell and AAP.

What inspired you to join the field of city and regional planning?

I was actually planning to apply to architecture, but I realized city and regional planning has a broader aspect in terms of professions. They might have some similarities, overall, but CRP covers more. Therefore, I will have more knowledge and skills at hand. Maybe I will pursue architecture one day, but my ultimate goal is to help my city, and that's how I ended up applying to the department of CRP.

What are your extracurricular interests and how have you incorporated them into your college life?

I play cello and bass. I play basketball, volleyball, and badminton. I love listening to R&B. Watching movies is one of my favorite things to do, and I love gaming.

What do you hope to accomplish during your time at AAP and after graduation?

I hope to learn all the skillsets I need to do whatever I want to do in the future and help my hometown grow. Also, I want to experience college life fully. Having an amount of fun while absorbing all kinds of knowledge in my interests is what I am considering.
