Why did you choose Cornell and AAP?

Cornell was the only Ivy League school I applied to. I did not expect to get in here but I did — and honestly, I chose Cornell because of the name value. I chose AAP because I wanted to pursue art.

What inspired you to become an artist?

I did not know what to do after I graduated from high school. I started to think about what makes me the happiest and it was art; creating works from my own research and imagination. During the summer of my junior year, I started my path as an artist, making three big projects and I also got a chance to show them in an exhibition. I was never tired or stressed when I worked on the projects — I was feeling joy as I was able to express my thoughts and feelings through art.

What experiences have contributed to your sense of belonging at AAP?

The professors motivate and challenge me every semester. They make my AAP experience better each year.

What are your extracurricular interests and how have you incorporated them into your college life?

Basketball, NBA, and fitness.

What do you hope to accomplish during your time at AAP and after graduation?

I want to mature as an adult and artist. I want to learn how to clearly and effectively express my thoughts through art, especially video works.
