There is a sense of smaller community — while having many amazing resources — that I am very fond of; and I fell in love with the gorgeous nature when I visited campus.

Why did you choose Cornell and AAP?

Exploring architecture, biomimicry, and technology in the frontier of the field has been my long-term interest since high school, and the Master of Science, Matter Design Computation program at Cornell immediately caught my attention last year. There is a sense of smaller community — while having many amazing resources — that I am very fond of; and I fell in love with the gorgeous nature when I visited campus.

What school(s) did you attend before coming to AAP and what degree(s) did you receive?

I studied architecture in Shenzhen University for two years and then transferred to the University of Oregon. I received my bachelor of architecture with an interior minor from the University of Oregon in 2018.

Did you decide to attend AAP immediately following graduation or did you work for a period of time? If you worked, what did you do?

I worked at Albert Group Architects in Los Angeles for a year after graduating from the University of Oregon.

What are your extracurricular interests and how have you incorporated them into your college life?

I love sports in general — soccer, surfing, snowboarding, and climbing. I also love playing piano and reading.

What do you hope to accomplish during your time at AAP and after graduation?

I believe Cornell will set me on the right track for my future career. I hope to explore my academic interest as much as possible during the program and to use that knowledge in architectural practice or academic research in the future.
