Ethan Chan
Ethan Chan is a New York-based architectural designer and Visiting Critic at Cornell AAP. His practice, Studio EC, sees architecture as both an internal discipline—rooted in material, proportion, structure, and scale—and an outward project, engaging a local culture and history. His portfolio includes several built spaces throughout Houston and ongoing single-family residential work in Los Angeles.
Ethan holds a Master of Architecture from Harvard GSD and a Bachelor of Architecture from Rice University with a double major in studio art. He also gained experience working on installations, institutions, and large-scale residential projects at Johnston Marklee, Leong Leong, and Michielli + Wyetzner. His current research examines the evolving roles of architectural representation and precedent in the process of design.
