Lina Malfona

Lina Malfona is Associate Professor of Architecture at The University of Pisa, where in 2019 she founded the Polit(t)ico research lab. A scholar with a Ph.D. in Architectural Design, she has authored more than 100 publications, among which are a number of essays and monographs on matters related to the history, theory, and criticism of architecture. As part of Polit(t)ico's program of events, she recently organized the conferences "Investigation on Mannerism" (2020) and, together with the MAXXI Museum, "The Future or the Eclipse of Criticism" (2023).

An architect, researcher, and builder, she is the author of a constellation of houses in the Roman countryside, which are at the center of her books Building the Landscape (Lettera Ventidue, 2018) and Residentialism (Actar, 2021). Her work has been exhibited at the Accademia Nazionale di San Luca, the MAXXI Museum of Rome, and the Royal Academy of Arts in London and published in the international journals DomusLogAbitare, and Architectural Record, among others.
