Bronx, New York
The sense of community, along with the opportunity to expand my passion for art while maintaining other interests through electives, made Cornell the perfect fit for me.
Why did you choose Cornell and AAP?
I visited Cornell for the first time during the summer of 2018. My peers and I were sent on a scavenger hunt so that we would discover our own interests rather than go on the traditional tour. No college could even compare to the first impression that I had with Cornell. Not only the beautiful campus, but the community as well. Before I officially chose the school, several current students and faculty reached out to me and offered support. The sense of community, along with the opportunity to expand my passion for art while maintaining other interests through electives, made Cornell the perfect fit for me.
What inspired you to become an artist?
I naturally gravitated towards drawing during my free time. My mother was also an artist as a child, but she did not have the opportunity to pursue her passions. Knowing this motivates me to work hard on mine.
What are your extracurricular interests and how have you incorporated them into your college life?
I've thoroughly enjoyed playing volleyball the past four years.
What do you hope to accomplish during your time at AAP and after graduation?
I took a week-long animation class that has enhanced my interest in digital art. Creating my own cartoon one day would be amazing.
