M.F.A. Group Show: Flesh Space

Title graphic for Flesh Space. image / provided
Flesh Space is a collaboration between Giselle Hobbs, Bec Sommer, and Shelby Johnson (all M.F.A. '23) that probes the relationship between body and environment. Each artist comes from a distinct background that helps them approach these ideas divergently. Hobbs's interests lie in what happens when body and environment synthesize, with a particular interest in interspecies mutations. Sommer accesses an imagined space where internal states directly correlate to external conditions. Johnson blurs the boundary between body and environment by translating emotions into sensory experiences.
