Renato Cymbalista — Land Purpose
Abstract
As part of the Land Purpose exhibition at AAP, Professor Renato Cymbalista will give a talk about his experience with the Brazilian not-for-profit Real Estate Community Fund (FICA). The Land Purpose exhibition is a collection of more than 100 case studies illustrating the diversity and vitality of community ownership around the globe. From associations to herlands and black territories, these are current projects with real people who are living and working beyond the constraints of private property.
FICA is an "ethical landlord" that buys and manages real estate properties to take them away from the speculative market and rent them back equitably.
