Performance Where? Moving Bodies and Other Spaces
This exhibition highlights AAP work from the spring 2023 Visual Representation course taught by Architecture Lecturer Hanna Tulis. Students were challenged to consider the moving body, forms of choreography, and alternate performance spaces that emerged in the 1970s as critical design and representational tools for new understandings of site, scale, and rhetorical impact.
The measure of bodies in motion through notational scripts, movement scores, deconstructed performance precedents, text, and video included in the exhibition adds to the kinesthetic archive of time and motion studies, site-specific performance art, subway acrobats, roving street dances, protests, fire drills, trash routes, and other embodied spatial and gestural practices.
