Awards and Fellowships for Art Students

Gibian-Rosewater Travel Research Award

The Gibian-Rosewater Travel Research Award is the result of a generous gift provided to the Department of Art by Mark Gibian (M.F.A. '80) and Marcy Rosewater. This award is offered annually in the spring of each academic year to provide support to an undergraduate art student during their sophomore or junior year for the purpose of completing a proposed project that requires research-related travel.

All interested B.F.A. sophomores and juniors will be emailed an application in early March, encouraging them to apply for the Gibian-Rosewater Traveling Research award. Applications must be submitted by the deadline date on the application. For more information, please contact the art department.

Edith and Walter King Stone Memorial Prize

The Edith and Walter King Stone Memorial Prize is awarded annually to a B.F.A. student who has shown great accomplishment and promise. The prize is awarded to one or more undergraduate student(s) at the end of the spring semester before beginning their thesis year. 

All interested B.F.A.  juniors will be emailed an application in early March, encouraging them to apply for the Edith and Walter King Stone Memorial Prize.  Applications must be submitted by the deadline date on the application. For more information, please contact the art department.

Fellowships for Academic Programs

Additional fellowships are awarded for regular academic programs such as Cornell in Rome. Please contact the art department office for additional information. Students are encouraged to seek funding from additional resources such as the Einaudi Center for International Studies where a list of resources beyond Cornell is maintained.
