The Ithaca Early Aviation Museum is intended to serve as the satellite branch of the Glenn H. Curtiss Museum in Hammondsport, New York. In the project, the riverside terrain is marked by two linear monolithic walls, between which is an excavated exhibition space that one enters through a ceremonial staircase and exits through an elongated ramp. Hovering over this spacious hall is a series of hanging "fins" which diffuse daylight entering the space to create a soft, even tone of light in the flexible, multipurpose interior.
