Ryan Ludwig

Ryan Ludwig is an architectural practitioner and educator, teaching previously at Syracuse University School of Architecture and SUNY Buffalo. His current research speculates on how building systems create microenvironments capable of inducing physiological effects and adaptive responses within inhabitants. These investigations have been published in the journal Thresholds 42: Human, MOINOPOLIS, and on AnimalArchitecture.org. Ludwig was also a coeditor of the book The Function of Form, by Farshid Moussavi.

Prior to teaching, Ludwig worked for the offices of Cannon Design, SPAN Architecture, MOS, and Blaze Makoid Architecture; and for such diverse clients as MoMA PS1, Southampton Hospital, Ian Schrager, Johnson Trading Gallery, Bridgeport Hospital, Dynamic Air Shelters, and the Denver Parks Department. He currently maintains an independent design practice, Adaptation of Parts (AoP), focused on inclusive and adaptable approaches towards architectural design.

Ludwig is a graduate of Cornell AAP who received a bachelor of architecture in 2004, and a master of architecture from Harvard GSD in 2009.
