Fabrizio Felici

Fabrizio Felici is an architect and Ph.D. candidate in Architecture at Roma Tre University. His research focuses on territorial planning, with a thesis on revising the classification of Inner Areas in Italy.

After earning his degree in Architectural Design in 2018, he specialized in urban regeneration dynamics, winning the Berlin Prize in 2019 and working at GMP Architekten. During the pandemic, he founded Ultra-Laboratorio Trasversale, a cultural research association on contemporary cities.

Since 2021, he has been actively involved in academic and urban planning projects, including the master plan for the Testaccio district in Rome. He is also a lecturer in the Oriental Cuba Small Historical Centres (OCSHC) cooperation project and, since 2021, a teaching assistant in urban planning courses at Roma Tre University and Sapienza University of Rome, focusing on territorial development and urban renewal programs.

Classes (Selected)

  • CRP 4160 Rome WorkshopThis course focuses on the city as a system through the analysis of (1) a set of neighborhoods and (2) issues affecting these neighborhoods. We will consider the relationship of these neighborhoods and issues to the functioning of the contemporary city of Rome and the wellbeing of its residents. This course will emphasize fieldwork and experiential learning that is supported with readings, class discussions and lectures. Field activities will take place during scheduled class times plus supplemental hours that are scheduled informally for an average of 12 hours per week, in addition to time spent on reading, writing, and the field trips.

  • Award for architects under 30 who have demonstrated research activities related to reuse and urban regeneration. An initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Ministry of Culture.
  • Winner of the International Competition "Play Your Airport - saison 2" (Awarding institution: ADP Groupe) (2019) 
  • Winner with the Mario Bros group for the project on the urban redevelopment of the spaces surrounding the Roissypole station at Charles de Gaulle International Airport in Paris.

  • EXODUS2020 (05/19/2022 - 06/10/2022) — Curator and creator, with ULTRA-Laboratorio Trasversale, of the exhibition EXODUS2020 - Beyond the City. A photographic and narrative project in collaboration with the magazine Scomodo, exploring the perception of the city by its citizens. Held at the Ex-Fonderia exhibition space of Scomodo. With the patronage of Sapienza University of Rome and the support of the Department of Architecture - Roma Tre University.
