Exhibition Abstract
Come one and all to celebrate the destruction of a piñata! This exhibition explores the paper-based craft that is cartonería, which originated in Mexico, and how it is seen through the experiences of celebratory events such as birthdays, posadas, and Día de los Muertos in colorful piñatas and alebrijes.
Exhibitor Biography
Emily Hernandez is a third-year B.F.A. student who is interested in creating works based on colors and stories from her experiences, including her family and growing up in Los Angeles, California.
