The urban and regional studies minor has been formulated specifically for those students not enrolled in the program of urban and regional studies and who are interested in complementing their current academic program with an introduction to various facets of urban studies (domestic, environmental, international, professional, and urban affairs).
The curriculum for students in the Minor in URS Program for Nonmajors totals a minimum of at least six courses (minimum total of 18 credit hours) in the Department of City and Regional Planning (CRP). Grades must be C or better in all courses used for minor credit.

Distribution requirements for the minor:
A minimum of three required core classes (9 credits minimum) and 9 credits of elective classes:
CRP 1103 Observing the City: Introduction to Field-Based Analysis, 3 credits
CRP 1104 Introduction to Global Urban Studies, 3 credits
CRP 2100 Neighborhood Change in the City: Quantitative Methods, 3 credits
CRP 2200 Community Engagement in the City: Qualitative Methods, 3 credits
CRP elective courses at the 3000 level or higher, 9 credits (please consult the department course listings)
**Not all departmental courses are available for nonmajors. Not all available courses have space for nonmajors every time they are offered.
