Kana Arioka

Kana Arioka, after having worked at Atelier Bow-Wow in Tokyo, was the founder of Studio Kana Arioka in Japan, a firm whose main focus was public spaces. In 2011 she moved to Belgium and began working as a senior architect in the office of 51N4E and then Architecten De Vylder Vinck Taillieu. Her interests focus on the space around the ordinary livelihood, from public space to private space in a transversal scale.

Her recent work has expanded beyond the practice of architecture and includes writings, guiding studios, and curating exhibitions. She has varied experience giving public lectures and teaching as a studio tutor at ULB/VUB (Belgium), Tokyo Institute of Technology (Japan), and as a lecturer at Chiba University (Japan). She has been visiting critic at Spring semester 2020 at AAP Cornell.

Arioka graduated from Waseda University (Japan) and University IUAV of Venice (Italy).
