The Office of Admissions and Student Services at AAP provides strategic focus and superior quality services in the promotion of the college’s academic opportunities and resources essential to providing seamless support for students and faculty. The office is co-led by the Senior Director of Enrollment and the Senior Director of Student Experience and is comprised of these collaborative teams:

About the College

The College of Architecture, Art, and Planning at Cornell University (Cornell AAP) is home to nearly 1,000 students, 120 faculty, and 65 staff members who come together from around the world to take up some of today's most urgent challenges and advance research, inquiry, and design to build a more just and sustainable future.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, and 1-2 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination.  Experience within higer education in the areas of program development, advising, and/or student services

The successful individual will be:

  • a great communicator, exhibiting professionalism in spoken and written encounters with multiple stakeholders (faculty, staff, parents, alumni, prospective students, and guidance counselors);
  • able to handle sensitive matters and/or confidential information and to communicate with tact, diplomacy, and discretion;
  • able to serve as an advocate for individuals of all ethnicities, genders, ages, and backgrounds;
  • flexible and able to adjust priorities as needed;
  • carefully attentive to detail; and
  • organized and proactive.

Additionally, this person will have:

  • demonstrated experience developing and delivering diversity and inclusion programming and support services related to student success and well-being, and experience measuring program success/outcomes;
  • experience in and/or demonstrated commitment to supporting diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and wellbeing;
  • experience incorporating the perspectives of multiple communities, including communities of color; and
  • expertise with typical business software required. Familiarity with Cornell systems, policies, and procedures is a plus but not required – what will be necessary are the abilities to learn these quickly and to keep skills/knowledge up-to-date.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree.
  • Familiarity with college student leadership development, advising practices, and student club management.

Benefits

The pay range is $60,400 to $70,194 annually

  • education level to the extent education is relevant to the position.
  • unique applicable skills.
