AAP Alumni Panel Virtual Series Event: Effective Professional Communication
Overview
AAP Connect and AAP NYC invite you to the second summer 2020 AAP Alumni Panel Virtual Series Event: Effective Professional Communication.
The need to support our recent AAP graduates at this time has never been greater given the unprecedented challenges of COVID-19 and the resulting recession, but also the killings of George Floyd and countless other Black lives have reignited a moment of heightened urgency for addressing systemic racism. With the success of the first session that touched on issues related to general professional development, we are now following up with a topic focusing on the importance of effective communication and the techniques used to identify prospective job leads (e.g., cold emails, employment postings, personal networking, professional associations, etc.). Given the collective experiences of these alumni panelists at Cornell and successes in their careers since then, we encourage recent graduates, young alumni who may have lost their jobs, and current AAP students to join us to hear their nuanced perspectives and guidance on career development.
This will be an informal and interactive conversation to discuss navigating an uncertain and complex career journey in architecture, art, and planning.
Register in advance for this meeting. We strongly encourage you to include a question or comment on the registration form. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email.
