Research Administration Coordinator

AAP Dean's Office
Posted 1 month ago

Overview

The person in this role is an integral part of the College of Architecture, Art, and Planning (AAP) research administration team, and serves as a representative to faculty, other staff, and students. Because this role is integral to AAP's research administration success, this position requires an unwavering commitment to service and excellence in a deadline-driven environment, and the ability to accommodate ongoing changes to internal and external policies and regulations.

The Research Administration Coordinator reports directly to the Associate Dean for Administration, and their primary responsibilities include:

  • post-award grant reporting and transaction support.
  • pre-award grant proposal specialist support.
  • managing sponsored accounts and developing financial reports.
  • training faculty, staff, and researchers on research-related policies and practices.
  • maintaining audit compliance and internal controls specific to sponsored programs.
  • high-level research-related project support for the Associate Dean for Administration and/or other research operations within AAP.

This position has the opportunity to work a hybrid office + at home arrangement, but must maintain regular (and communicated) hours on campus, to ensure that faculty and other staff are able to engage with them. During peak proposal or reporting times, the person in this position must be able to maintain a flexible work schedule to accommodate unforeseen challenges or high volume; this may require occasional overtime, subject to management prior approval.

While position responsibilities vary, every member of our community is expected to foster a culture of belonging and a psychologically healthy work environment by communicating across differences; being cooperative, collaborative, open, and welcoming; showing respect, compassion, and empathy; engaging and supporting others regardless of background or perspective; speaking up when others are being excluded or treated inappropriately; and supporting work/life integration of oneself and others.

This job opportunity is for a 3-year fixed-term position with the possibility of extension.
