Born in Arcadia, California, Sandy Winters (M.F.A. ’77) lives and works in New York City and is represented by the George Adams Gallery. Over a long career, Winters has shown extensively in New York City, and elsewhere in the U.S., as well as in Europe. She has been included in many museum exhibitions. Winter’s work has been discussed in over 50 catalogues, books, and newspapers. Her shows have been reviewed in Art in America, Art News, Art and Antiques, Sculpture Magazine, Art Papers, the New York Times, and other publications around the country. Her work has appeared in several books on drawing, including Drawing: Space, Form, and Expression by Enstice and Peters; Drawing: a Contemporary Approach by Betti and Sale; and New Directions in American Drawing by the Drawing Center in New York City. Winters is a 2011 Artist Fellowship recipient of the New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA).
