Carl Ostendarp pursues a painting practice which has had a significant impact on the continuing development of pictorial abstraction. He has engaged in 29 solo national and international museum and gallery exhibitions as well as over 170 group exhibitions. His work is represented by the Elizabeth Dee Gallery, New York City; Galerie Schmidt Maczollek, Cologne, Germany; and Carrol and Sons, Boston. Professor Ostendarp has lectured on his work at Columbia University, Williams College, the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, and the Wurtemburgischer Kunstverein Stuttgart, Germany. Ostendarp taught at NYU, Tyler, Rutgers, SVA, and the Cooper Union prior to his 12 years at Cornell. He received his B.F.A. from Boston University and his M.F.A. from Yale University.
