Riley Studebaker focuses on developing responsible uses of autonomous robots in the built environment. His research explores how embodied AI systems can build, adapt, and maintain the physical world of the architecture engineering and construction industry at scale.
He has taught at the University of Pennsylvania Weitzman School of Design and at the Rensselaer School of Architecture, and was the robot lab manager & research fellow at the UPenn Advanced Research and Innovation Robotics Lab. In 2025 his hard-tech startup TackLabs won first place in the Severino Center Incubation Competition.
He holds a Master of Robotics and Autonomous Systems from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Architecture from the Virginia Tech College of Architecture and Urban Studies.
