ART 3599 Advanced Drawing: The Pictorial Travelogue
This travelogue chronicles a residency in Italy by mapping the bustling life of the Tiber onto the obsessive patterns of Roman pavements. This work employs the rhythmic monotony of the pavement as a formal constraint, using it to frame the vibrant energy of the riverbank. In this study, the pavement is no longer a passive surface but a narrative device that anchors the fleeting inhabitants of the Tiber within the enduring pattern of the Roman landscape.
