The initial step of the project is to design a game based on a thorough analysis of two housing precedents in Japan and Spain. The game, which adopted a mechanism of key, is about rescuing four animals consecutively from three panels with different degrees of transparency. The idea of transparency is further developed in the housing project located in Binghamton, New York, and translated into the residents’ privacy within the space.

In addition to the private housing units, two public spaces — a carousel and a theater — are structurally supported by four walls accommodating both vertical and horizontal circulation. The unique sectional quality below the theater is filled by the volume of the carousel and is exposed to the public through both transparent and translucent panels. From each unit, the residents can secretly access their private booths to watch movies anytime without encountering visitors.
