Zoe Lemelson

Zoe Lemelson is a book designer, visual artist, and founder of Luhz Press, an independent art book publisher with a focus on photography and photo-based work. She is always led by her curiosity for photography, in both image and the language of its material form. Her book design practice emphasizes the playfulness of construction and materiality to further communicate a project’s concept, while her art practice explores themes of memory, historicization, and how visual modes mediate one’s perception of the past. Prior to launching Luhz Press, she worked across arts and publishing in Los Angeles, notably at the LA-based publisher Inventory Press and at ROSEGALLERY, a contemporary photography gallery. She holds a B.A. in Art History and German Studies from Vassar College and is currently based in Los Angeles.
