Zurita pursues design for public spaces as the principle at his firm, Ricardo Zurita Architecture & Planning, P.C. His portfolio encompasses a wide range of project scales and types, from urban design master plans and large outdoor spaces to individual buildings and interiors. With all of his works, Zurita takes a multidisciplinary approach and carefully considers the public impact of these projects when designing. With this focus, he has developed extensive experience navigating rigorous review processes and public scrutiny. Zurita has continually received positive recognition for his collaborative approach to projects, which achieves a successful conclusions between different stakeholders.
Notable projects include the master plan for the redevelopment of Randall's Island and several of its buildings including Icahn Stadium and the Sportime Tennis Center (home of the John McEnroe Tennis Academy), the urban park at One Penn Plaza in Midtown Manhattan, Lake Isle Tennis Center, and Douglaston Manor. Current projects include the Asian Cultural Center in Washington DC and the expansion of the Sportime Tennis Center.
