Max Taffet

Max Taffet’s work centers on New York City’s working waterfront, spanning the city’s 520 miles of shoreline. Taffet is a Visiting Lecturer at Cornell AAP NYC and Senior Vice President in the Asset Management, Ports, Waterfront, and Transportation Department at the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC), overseeing piers and tenants citywide. Taffet has led waterfront initiatives, including the city’s first tidal wetland mitigation bank and offset credit market; reinvestment at South Brooklyn Marine Terminal supporting Empire Wind; removal of the Vernon C. Bain Correctional Center barge from Hunts Point; and coordination of Sail250 infrastructure. Taffet represents New York City on the Harbor Operations Steering Committee and NYS’s Offshore Wind Technical Working Group. Taffet holds a Master of Regional Planning from Cornell University (2014) as a member of the 2013 AAP NYC cohort, and a dual B.A. in Political Science and Fine Arts from the University of British Columbia.
