In 2004, Massimiliano Spadoni started his architectural office, where the basic principle is to connect theory and practice; concept, design, and construction; and research and building technology. He studied and worked in Milan, Rotterdam, Barcelona, and New York City. From 2005 to 2017 he has been a professor at Polytechnic of Milan, Faculty of Architecture. Together with Rintala-Eggertsson Architects, he has led several design-build workshops in Italy, Norway, and Portugal. He's currently leading research called "Abitare Minimo-Minimum Living," or the essence of living, which focuses on small-scale architecture, embracing vernacular architecture, contemporary architecture, self-made constructions, and landscape.
