Marianne Hansen teaches master's programs as an associate professor at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture. Since 2014 she has taught the master's program Architecture and Extreme Environments.
Hansen has worked as a senior architect at the Copenhagen-based practice Dorte Mandrup since 2005. The firm is defined by conceptual precision and a method of explorative prototyping. As a leading design architect, Hansen works with the development of key architectural concepts and design in the early stages of projects within a wide range of typologies and scales.
Hansen is a member of the Society of Artists of the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and is a former member of the Board of Representatives at the Danish Arts Foundation appointed by the Ministry of Culture. Hansen was born in Hilleroed, Denmark. She received a B.Arch. from the University of East London, School of Architecture, England; and her M.Arch. (Cand.Arch.) from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture.
