Jie Jian (JJ) is a graphic designer, type designer, and artist based in Brooklyn, originally from Shenzhen, China. Her practice explores language’s visual and tactile dimensions. She is interested in how text can be seen, held, and felt beyond meaning itself. Working across typography, editorial design, and fiber arts, she traces how small forms of communication shape how we connect and understand one another. She has studied at the Rhode Island School of Design and The Cooper Union.
