Clara Mu He is an architect and researcher, currently serving as a Visiting Lecturer at Cornell University’s College of Architecture, Art, and Planning. Her research and practice focus on circular construction and material reuse, foregrounding material as a bottom-up lens through which to understand the social, economic, and technical relationships that shape processes of production, as well as those between architecture and its broader cultural contexts.

She cofounded Project (Un)Build, a research practice investigating design for disassembly in timber construction. In 2025, she designed and curated the Project (Un)Build exhibition at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. Her research and work have been presented internationally at Biennale College Architettura (2024), the Copenhagen Architecture Biennial (2025), and the Seattle Design Festival (2026). Her research has also been published in Technology | Architecture + Design (2025).

She holds a B.A. in Art History from Columbia University, where she received the Meyer Schapiro Book Prize for Excellence in Art History, and a Master of Architecture from the Harvard Graduate School of Design. Her graduate thesis received the James Templeton Kelley Thesis Prize for best M.Arch. thesis, the Peter Rice Prize for innovation in architecture and structural engineering, and distinction. She currently practices at LEVER Architecture and has previously worked at Diller Scofidio + Renfro and Nikken Sekkei.
