Char Klein

Char Klein (they / them, b. 1994) is a French / American artist working within the mediums of photography, nonfiction writing, and bookmaking. They studied at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland and at Columbia College Chicago, where they received their degree in fine art photography in 2017. Char has spent the majority of the past decade working as an educator in remote wilderness landscapes for the National Outdoor Leadership School. Their most recent work engages with the somatics of trans bodies in connection with land and earth elements. Their photography practice is an exercise in re-imagining the gendered body within the context of art history. They currently live and work in Santa Fe.
