Andrea P. Foertsch is founder and principal of Disruptive Space, a company that develops workplace strategies for the innovation economy. Recent work has focused on shared workspace such as coworking, maker-spaces, innovation centers, hacker-spaces, and accelerators. Her research report, "Workplace Innovation Today: The Coworking Center," was published by NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association, in December 2013. She also published "Innovation in Manufacturing: Makerspaces," a study commissioned by MassDevelopment in April 2013. MassDevelopment works with businesses, nonprofits, and local, state, and federal officials and agencies to strengthen the Massachusetts economy.
Foertsch is also a principal and founder of Melrose Real Estate Strategies, an urban development, adaptive reuse, and land planning consulting practice specializing in the study and opportunistic application of emerging trends and best practices.
