Yoshiharu Tsukamoto: Genealogical Approach for Contemporary Architecture

Yoshiharu Tsukamoto founded Atelier Bow-Wow, a Tokyo-based firm, with Momoyo Kaijima in 1992. Tsukamoto's interest lies in diverse fields ranging from architectural design to urban research and the creation of public artworks, which are produced, based on the theory called "behaviorology." Atelier Bow-Wow has designed and built houses and public and commercial buildings in Tokyo, as well as Europe and the United States. The practice's urban research studies led to the experimental project micro-public-space, a new concept of the public space, which has been exhibited across the world. Tsukamoto graduated from the Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1987. In 1994, he completed his post-graduate studies at school of Tokyo Institute of Technology.
