A member of the U.S. Commission of Fine Arts, Witold Rybczynski is a Meyerson Professor Emeritus of Urbanism at the University of Pennsylvania and professor of real estate at the Wharton School. Rybczynski is the author of many books, including Home (1986), The Most Beautiful House in the World (1989), City Life (1995), A Clearing in the Distance (1999), and The Look of Architecture (2000). He is a winner of the J. Anthony Lukas Prize. Rybczynski contributes regularly to the New York Times, the New York Review of Books, and Slate.
