Michael Ashkin, assistant art professor and director of graduate studies in the art department, has been invited to the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) as the Falk Visiting Artist. The honor includes a solo show at the prestigious Weatherspoon Museum where Ashkin plans to exhibit his latest video work.

Located on the UNCG campus, the Weatherspoon showcases the work of nationally recognized American artists from the early 1900s until today. Ashkin’s exhibit will run from January 17 through April 18, 2010. He will also spend three days at the university interacting with graduate students.

Beginning on November 20, Ashkin’s art will command an international audience with the exhibition of a new installation of sculpture and video at Secession in Vienna. The show runs through January 24, 2010.
