Tropical Garden Cities: The Influence of Clarence S. Stein on Urbanization at the Panama Canal

This exhibit will serve as the capstone of a 2006 Clarence Stein Institute research grant, presenting the outstanding architectural, urban and landscape design features of the Panama Canal Area through a combination of large-scale color photographs, narrative text and supplementary graphic information.

As the centerpiece of the exhibit, large-scale color photographs will depict recurrent architectural and environmental features visible today throughout the towns of the Canal Area. A narrative text will place the photographs in the context of planning, urban design and architectural theories which influenced town development.
