Students inhabit Milstein Hall studios

August 25, 2011

The entirety of the architecture student body was welcomed into Milstein Hall on the first day of classes for the fall 2011 semester. The influx of students filled the 25,000 square feet of studio space with high energy and enthusiasm as studio assignments were shared and initial class meetings were held in the buildings steel, glass, and concrete spaces. Sixteen studios for third-, fourth-, and fifth-year B.Arch. students and all M.Arch. students totaling nearly 199 students are being held in Milstein Hall. First- and second-year B.Arch. students are in the adjoining second floor of Rand Hall, with easy access to the computer and printing resources in Milstein Hall. Eager students explored the unique spaces in the new building, including the large elevator, crit space under the dome, unique washrooms, and pod seating in the domes exterior. Milstein Halls auditorium is scheduled to be completed by early October.
