Steve O’Neil is the St. Louis County Commissioner in Duluth, Minnesota’s Second District. O’Neil is a longtime community organizer and activist on behalf of low-income people and public health. He has been active in justice issues relating to housing, poverty, and public health for more than 30 years. He has worked on behalf of a host of community organizations such as Duluth Loaves and Fishes and the Northern Communities Land Trust. O’Neil also teaches at the University of Minnesota–Duluth, the College of St. Scholastica, the University of Wisconsin–Superior, and works as a trainer and consultant. He holds a master of social work from the University of Minnesota–Duluth.
