Shirley Tse: On Her Work

Shirley Tse’s sculptures, installations, and photographs have been included in museum exhibitions worldwide, including the Biennale of Sydney 2002; Bienal Ceara America, Brazil 2002; Kaohshiung Museum of Fine Arts, Taiwan; Art Gallery of Ontario, Toronto; Museum of Modern Art, Bologna, Italy; San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; New Museum of Contemporary Art, New York; P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center, New York; and Govett-Brewster Art Gallery, New Zealand. Her work is included in the recently published Sculpture Today by Phaidon Press. She had been awarded artist-in-residency at the Skowhegan School of Art in Maine (1995); Banff Center for the Arts in Alberta, Canada (1998); and Capp Street Project in San Francisco (2002). She is represented by Shoshana Wayne Gallery in Los Angeles Murray Guy in New York, and Perugi Arte Contemporanea in Pardova, Italy. She lives and works in Los Angeles, and is a faculty member at the California Institute of the Arts since 2001.
