Reverend Bruce Davenport of New Orleans

Reverend Bruce Davenport of New Orleans will be here in Sibley to speak to the Cornell Community about his work in New Orleans before and since Hurricane Katrina devastated the city. Pastor Bruce is the pastor of St. John's #5 Baptist Church located in the 7th Ward of New Orleans. Before the storm the church had a number of facilities designed to help low-income families, children, unwed teen mothers, and HIV victims to improve or better cope with life in their situation. Since the storm, the floodwater and subsequent mold invasion has devastated the facilities and everything in them.
